  5. Most of you have used a word processor or text editor to make changes to 
  6. a document or source code with the Search and Replace command. Every 
  7. good text editor has one.
  8.  
  9. How many times have you wished for a utility that easily combines search 
  10. & replace with the ability to perform the replace on multiple files in a 
  11. directory with a single command?
  12.  
  13. GSR provides the ability to do a search and replace on many files in a 
  14. directory with a single command! On ANY size file!
  15.  
  16. No more wading through lists of file names!
  17.  
  18. You provide:
  19.  
  20.     1. The filespec (standard DOS wildcards are permitted).
  21.     
  22.     2. The 'search for' text
  23.     
  24.     3. The 'replace with' text
  25.     
  26.     4. Whether the search will be 'case sensitive'
  27.     
  28.     5. Whether the replacements will be performed automatically, without 
  29.     asking you, or if you would like each occurrance surround by it's 
  30.     context for your manual approval.

  32. Once started, GSR goes to work in a high speed, directory wide search, 
  33. and does the replacements very quickly.

  35. Two interfaces are provided. 
  36.  
  37.     1. If you start GSR with no parameters, you will be prompted by the 
  38.     program for the information it needs to search and replace data.
  39.     
  40.     2. You can use GSR from batch files to automate any search and 
  41.     replace process with it's Batch Mode interface.

  43. If you are a programmer, and you don't have GSR, YOU ARE WASTING TIME!
